Mahjong Connect is an extremely popular internet game that originated in China based off of the original Mahjong tile game. In order to be successful the game requires patience, skill, and strategy.
Like the original game Mahjong Connect consists of tiles, many of which are the same as used in the original Mahjong. These tiles consist of stones, bamboos, characters, flowers and more.
Unlike like the original game though Mahjong connect is a single player game where the goal is to eliminate all the tiles from the board. Tiles are arranged with ten tiles placed vertically and fourteen tiles place horizontally. The player then must select matching tiles to be cleared from the board. The trick however is that the player is limited to the tiles that can be selected. In order to pair a tile it must be on the boarder.
There are many variations to the game and it was originally used for gambling purposes. As of 2010 Mahjong is the most popular table game played in Japan. It is believed to be losing popularity and many efforts have taken place in order to revive it.
